# How does early renewal work?

Early renewal (sometimes called auto-refill or auto top-up) renews your plan automatically when your credit balance gets low, so your searches, bulks and API calls keep running instead of failing partway through.

||| ℹ️ Early renewal does not cancel or replace your subscription. When it triggers, your next renewal date moves forward by one billing period and your subscription continues from that new date. If your balance never falls below the threshold, nothing changes.

# How do I turn it on?

1. Go to **Settings → Billing**: 👉 https://app.anymailfinder.com/settings/billing
2. In the **When credits run low** section, find **Renew my plan early when my balance falls below**
3. Pick a balance from the dropdown

To turn it off, choose **Never**.

|| Only the workspace owner and admins can change this setting.

# What happens when my balance falls below the threshold?

Your plan renews **immediately**, exactly as if you had clicked **Renew now**:
* You're charged the **price of your current plan** to the card on file
* You receive your plan's **full credits** right away
* Your **next renewal date moves forward** by one billing period, and your subscription continues from that date
* Your unused credits **stay in your balance** and keep rolling over
* The payment appears in the **Invoices** section of the Billing page

**Example:**
You're on a **10,000 credits/month** plan that renews on the 30th, and early renewal is set to 1,000 credits. On the 12th your balance drops to 900 credits. Your plan renews on the spot: you're charged the monthly price, your balance becomes 10,900 credits, and your next renewal is now the 12th of next month, not the 30th. If your balance drops below 1,000 again before then, your plan renews early again and the date moves forward again.

The check runs every time credits are used, so the renewal happens shortly after crossing the threshold. Your **total balance** counts, including rollover credits.

||| ⚠️ On a **yearly plan**, an early renewal charges the full yearly price and moves your renewal date forward by one year.

# Is there a limit on how often it renews?

No. Each time your balance falls below the threshold, your plan renews again. If you use credits quickly, this can happen several times in one billing period.

# What if the payment fails?

* No credits are added
* You'll receive an email with a link to update your card and pay the invoice

# When does early renewal not apply?

* **Cancelled subscriptions:** once you've cancelled, early renewal no longer runs, even if it was turned on
* **No payment method:** early renewal needs a card on file
* **Free trial credits:** early renewal only works with an active paid subscription

|| If you've scheduled a plan change for your next renewal (for example a downgrade), an early renewal replaces it: the renewal is on your **current** plan and the scheduled change is cancelled. Schedule it again afterwards if you still want it.

# Early renewal vs. low-credit emails

In the same section, **Email me when my balance falls below** only sends a notification and never charges you. You can use both: for example, get an email at 20% and renew automatically at 10%. If the early renewal threshold is equal to or higher than the email threshold, the renewal happens first and the email isn't sent.
