What are the possible email statuses in search results?

In short: Anymail Finder verifies emails in real time. Only VALID emails are charged. RISKY and NOT FOUND results are always free.

When you search for emails in Anymail Finder, every result is verified in real time before being returned.

This means:

  • Verification is always included in searches
  • You don’t need to verify emails again after a search
  • Only VALID emails are charged (depending on the search type)
  • RISKY and NOT FOUND results are always free

Each search result is assigned an email status so you can quickly understand whether an email was found and how safe it is to use.

Email statuses returned in search results

Anymail Finder searches can return one of the following statuses:

VALID

Safe to send

Emails marked as VALID have passed SMTP verification and advanced deliverability checks.

  • 97%+ delivery guarantee
  • Confirmed to exist and receive emails
  • Safe to use in your primary sending setup

For catch-all domains, additional checks confirm the specific email address, not just the domain.

Billing

  • Charged (depending on the search type)

Recommended use

  • Primary cold outreach
  • Main campaigns

RISKY

Use with caution

Emails marked as RISKY could not be fully confirmed but show strong signals of being deliverable.

This usually happens when:

  • The domain is catch-all and checks are inconclusive
  • The mail server uses greylisting
  • The server returns temporary errors
  • The email matches a proven pattern for the domain

Billing

  • Always free

Recommended use

  • Secondary sending setup
  • Low-volume campaigns
  • Monitor bounce rates carefully

NOT FOUND

No email available

A NOT FOUND status means Anymail Finder couldn’t find any email for the given input.

This may be due to:

  • Missing or incorrect company domain
  • No valid email existing for the person or company
  • Insufficient or ambiguous input data

Billing

  • Always free

What you can try

  • Switch between company name and domain
  • Try a different search type
  • Double-check company information

Do I need to verify emails after a search?

No. All emails returned by Anymail Finder searches are already verified in real time.

You only need the Email Verifier if:

  • The email comes from outside Anymail Finder, or
  • The email was found more than one month ago and you want to re-check it
