What are the possible email statuses in search results?
When searching for emails, Anymail Finder can return one of the following statuses:
VALID
Safe to send.
Exists and can receive emails. Passed SMTP and advanced verification checks, including checks that work on catch-all domains.
Credits used: Yes - based on the search type.
Recommendation: Safe to use for all campaigns and primary sending.
RISKY
Use with caution.
We're unable to determine with certainty whether the email is valid or invalid because the domain may be using catch-all, greylisting, or similar protections.
Credits used: No - always free.
Recommendation: Use cautiously for low-volume or secondary sending.
NOT FOUND
No email available.
Anymail Finder couldn't find any email address for the given input. This may be due to missing or incorrect company information, or because no valid email exists.
Credits used: No - always free.
Recommendation: Try adjusting the input, switching search types, or double-checking company details.
How does Anymail Finder handle catch-all domains?
Some domains are configured as catch-all, meaning they accept emails for any address, even if the mailbox doesn't exist.
When Anymail Finder detects a catch-all domain, we apply additional verification signals beyond basic SMTP checks:
- If we can confidently assess deliverability, the email is returned as VALID
- If the domain prevents reliable verification, the email is returned as RISKY

How does billing work for Email Searches?
Credits are only consumed when a search returns a VALID email. RISKY and NOT FOUND results are always free.
Each search type uses a fixed number of credits:
- Email Finder by Name: 1 credit
- Email Finder by Company: 1 credit
- Email Finder by Decision Maker: 2 credits
- Email Finder by LinkedIn URL: 2 credits
Duplicate searches for the same input and search type within 30 days are not charged again.

Do I need to verify emails after a search?
No. All emails returned by Anymail Finder searches are already verified in real time.
You only need the Email Verifier if:
- The email comes from outside Anymail Finder, or
- The email was found more than one month ago and you want to re-check it
